Telltale Consult · business strategy for brands and institutions

The audience you own

Storytelling is the tool; the business problem is the brief. We help organisations decide whether a show will solve their problem, and when it will, we make it.

Advertising rents attention. A show owns it.

Rented attention is bought by the impression and gone when the budget stops. A show is chosen, subscribed to and returned to each week, and it builds: more episodes, more viewers, more people who come back without being paid to.

What lasts

The shows still running are owned, regular and fronted by people who know the subject. Nobody subscribes to a corporate message. They subscribe to a story told well.

How we work

Start with the business problem, not the show

  1. Who needs to care?
  2. What would make them?
  3. How do we reach them?
  4. How will we know it worked?

If a show will not give you an advantage, we say so and stop there.

Step one · the first four weeks

A four week scoping study

A fixed fee, and a full report: who matters to you, what they would watch, what it would cost, how we would measure it, and our view on whether to make anything at all.

Step two · before episode one

A measure we agree

One agreed measure of success and a named owner on your side, set before we start, and a one page report every season.
